HAÏDOUTI ORKESTAR
Haïdouti Orkestar is a blazing brass band with a powerful rythm section, a hot shot accordionist and sultry voices at its forefront.
Based in Paris, the band has been exploring the musical heritage of the Balkans, Turkey, the middle east and beyond, for the past 14 years. It is made up of musicians from France, Greece, Turkey, and also gypsies from Romania and Serbia. Babel Connexion, their fourth album relased in 2017 has tracks influenced by armenian, azéri or lebanese music.
In 2016, the band was invited by Ibrahim Maalouf to record the original soundtrack of French movie ‘La Vache’ ('The Cow'), directed by Mohamed Hamidi. The movie was a hit and the orchestra was invited to play at the Closing Ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival and blew the Palais des Festivals away with its communicative energy and powerful music.
Haidouti Orkestra is a human an musical adventure proud to represent France in its mutlicutural diversity. Fighting hate speeches and cultural isolationism, the band doesn’t want to build walls… on the contrary it rather climb over them.
